0 to 9 how many 6 digits number

OpenStudy (cggurumanjunath):

If you can repeat numbers, then you can simply multiply each digit by the possible number of outcomes. So for each first digit you can have 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9. That's 10 possible numbers for each digit. So you'd calculate the answer like this: 10x10x10x10x10x10 or, 10⁶ the answer is 1,000,000 possible answers If each number has to be unique, then you'd have 10 options for the first digit, only 9 options for the second (since you used a number already for the first), 8 options for the third, and so on. This equation would look like this: 10x9x8x7x6x5 so in this case, you'd only be able to have 151,200 combinations.
