I know it is against the CoC to write answers w/ no process, but I notice that many users seek merely answers. Is this also against the CoC? Please share your answers/thoughts.
From the \(\bf\color{red}{\href{/code-of-conduct}{\underline{CoC}}}\): OpenStudy values the Learning process - not the ‘Give you an answer’ process - Have homework problems? We can help you - as long as you are looking to learn how to get your solution (and not just the answer).
against CoC they need to be politely told that they wouldn't be getting their home done by us, but any guidance will be happily given.
**homework
By guidance you mean not just providing the whole solution and letting the person do some work, right? Unfortunately i have seen a mod (wont take names) providing the solution. Although the solution was very elaborate and quite easy to understand, i think thats not the right way go about it.
by guidance, we mean to let the asker figure out what to do, and we just giving the right approach and making it easier to solve. if you see anyone giving entire or most part of the solution , DO NOT hesitate to report that user, be it a moderator or the administrator, the rule applies to ALL.
okay thank you all, especially @hartnn. I noticed that people sometimes only want answers, and that is against the CoC. Although it is technically what they desire...Thank you for sharing. I will leave this question open for a bit if anyone else has something to add, but I feel a bit more secure about this particular issue. Thank you
@yrelhan4 Yes, it is one thing that irks me too. In fact, a complete answer is even worse than just giving them "42!" or "c" or whatever. A detailed answer lets a person cheat on homework where they need to show all work. All they have to do is say they want a detailed explanation and eventually someone does their homework for them.
