Find the number of 5 card draw poker hands in which all 5 cards are chosen from among the 2,3,4,5,6, and 7 of clubs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you covered "combinations" in your class or wherever you're learning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have 7 things and you want to know how many groups of 5 you can make from those 7 things. There's a standard equation, and some calculators can do it straight away if you have a combination function on your calculator

dan...let him respond first please. thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dan...he's asking for the number of combinations. your answer does not give the number of hands.

Does \[\frac{ n! }{ k!(n-k)! }\] ring a bell? Or does that look totally foreign to you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So because I have 6 choices or that first card , basically I only have 6 possible different 5 card hands
