(-1, 3) and perpendicular to y = -1/3x + 7. y = 3x - 12 y = 3x + 6 y = 3x - 6 y = 3x What do I do? Is there a formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, perpendicular lines have negative reciprical slopes. because the slope of the given line is -1/3 the perpendicular line will have a slope of 3. now just find a line with a slope of 3 that passes through the given point (-1,3)

So as of right now I have Y=3x now I need to trial and error to find out what slope will get me to go through the point -1,3?

Never mind I think I got it, thanks @michaeljeff :D
