Medal given to whoever helps Luke has a spinner divided into ten equal segments, each with a different color. In forty spins, he spun yellow 2 times. How does this compare to the expected result? The experiment resulted in 2 more yellows than expected. The experiment resulted in 4 more yellows than expected. The experiment resulted in 2 fewer yellows than expected. The experiment resulted in 4 fewer yellows than expected.

how many would you expect in each segment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, assuming each segment was equally likely, each should occur with probability \(1/10\)... out of \(40\) spins we'd expect, then, \(40\times1/10=4\) yellows. how does this compare to our experimental result of only \(2\) yellows?
