In finding a slope to a line: i got this... (6,8) (-3,-4) y2 - y1 ------ = slope x2 - x1 so it would be, -4 - 8 over -3 - 6 -12 on top --- -9 on bottom My question is, does the equation stay negative? or does the 2 negative signs cancel out to make it a positive?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

You divide normally @DeviousDill negative divided by negative is positive :)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

so to answer your question, yes, the two negative signs cancel out :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but none of the answers are 4 over 3 there are 4 answers A 9/12 B 12/9 C 2/7 D -2/1

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

One of them's 12/9 though :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be: B?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

12/9 = 4/3 It would only make sense :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like, it just isn't reduced to lowest fraction. I reduced it to 4/3 instead of keeping it at 12/9

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

yeah... equality is equality...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but technically it is the same thing

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

It is...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thank you
