Need help with my little brother's homework!! he is in 7th GRADE!! so it is pretty easy but hard for me to help him!! Can anybody please help?? 3p-(p + 6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distribute the negative sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3p-p-6

OpenStudy (abb0t):

You don't need to use your little brother as an excuse to help you with your college math. Anyways, you use distributive property. Start by distributing the negative sign inside the parenthesis: 3p-p-6. Now, combine like terms, (3p-p)-6 NOTE: 3p-p is the same thing as 3 - 1. So you get 2. Now i dont know if you're solving for \(p\) but if not, then you are done.
