what is the product of (3x+2) and (x-7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty sure it would be 3x^2-19x-14

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

use FOIL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have been trying to that foil crap but im getting a wierd answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(3x+2)(x-7) so you multiply 3x times x and then -7.. giving you 3x^2-21x then you multiply 2 times x and -7 and that gives you 2x-14 overall that is 3x^2-21x+2x-14 the common denominators are 21x and 2x after you add the two (simplification) it gives you 3x^2-19x-14
