OpenStudy (anonymous):

Imino acids are amino acids ? :/

OpenStudy (abb0t):

No. Imines are double bonded nitrogens attached to a carbon. Something like R=NH. Having the suffic "acid" means that it has a carboxy acid. Therefore, an imino acid is probably a molecule which contains both an imine and a carboxilic acid with in it's molecular composition. Shown below is the structure of an imino acid, 1-Pyrroline-5-carboxylic acid as an example. The double bond on the nitrogen is the imine, the C-O(=OH) is the carboxilic acid.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

amino acids contain an amine group \(NH_2\) and a carboxilic end, \(CO_2\)
