OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

Can someone explain a couple of these terms below to me?

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

sure

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

\[\cup \]

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

|dw:1376597151122:dw|

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

umm is this a game?

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

No. These are literal algebra terms.

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Union mean something that includes both of the stuff from any two sets! For eg. = A = {1,2,3,4,5,6} , B = {1,2,3,7,8,9} So A union B = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9} But A intersection B = {1,2,3} Getting me?

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

oh how stupid

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

@AkashdeepDeb Thank you

OpenStudy (usarmy3947):

sorry if i could not help

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

You're most welcome!

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

Now what does this mean?

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

I mean, what does it represent?

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

This represents an ordered pair which is a kind of relation between X and Y here! :D

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

\[\prime f\] And finally, what does this mean?

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

I don't quite see it but that f over there represents a function! A function is just like a relation but Unlike a relation every x value of a function MUST ALWAYS have an unique y value. Kinda getting it? :)

OpenStudy (accidentalaichan):

Oh, I get it. Thanks so much ^^'' this helps me understand this new subject.

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

:)
