OpenStudy (anonymous):

How are animal protists usually grouped? A. By their internal organs B. By their method of locomotion C. By the number of chloroplasts D. By what they eat wouldnt it be D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.cociuba

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Yes, I believe you are correct :)

thomaster (thomaster):

Protists are broken down in 4 groups: Flagellates, Amoeboids, Ciliates and Sporozoa. Do you know what the difference is? It's not D by the way

thomaster (thomaster):

I mean animal-like protists, also known as protozoa

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

They share common traits with animals. They are all heterotrophs, and are able to move in their environment in order to find their food. Unlike animals, however, they are all unicellular. So by this, I believed that it was D.

thomaster (thomaster):

Yes @e.cociuba but that says nothing about what they eat. it says that they're capable to move, so they can reach their food.

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Okay, thanks for the correction @thomaster :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so B then correct?

thomaster (thomaster):

Yes, they way they move, also called locomotion, is different for these 4 subgroups. flaggelates use flagelles, ciliates use cillia to move, etc...
