Convert the polar equation to rectangular coordinates. cos(2theta) = 1 . The answer is y = 0 , but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get that answer.

No, there is no r, I typed the question exactly as it was given to me. I can't find a problem similar to this in my book or the lecture notes. The difference is that the 2 is in the parenthesis. cos (2theta) = 1 . Usually it's something like 2cos(theta) = 1 .
