There's 4 examples

You need two variables (letters)...there can't be any exponents or square roots on the variables..the variables can't be in the denominators of fractions. That's about it.

ohh.. and the variables can't be multiplied by one another.
for examplbe 3 = 2xy - 8 is not a linear equation
