If a have cosx=0.9 what's the value of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i already have the answer and it's 15. but i need to now how to i find that value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

know*

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

A cosine of 0.9 requires an argument rather near x = 0. You should have an inverse cosine button on your calculator, no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ada05it can never be 15.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos 15=0.96.......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's 25, 84..... that's what i get on my calc ... maybe they wrote it wrong in the book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos x = 0.9 x = cos^-1(0.9) N.B cos^-1 means cos inverse x = 25.84 degree

thanks
