hello what is the formula for velocity?

OpenStudy (rane):

it depends on what information u r given but this is the formula distance = velocity * time so rearrange for V = D/t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it not be change in positon?

OpenStudy (rane):

change in position what do u mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

change in position / time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because it has a direction

OpenStudy (rane):

wht do u mean by position? can u tell me whts you q pls?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vocity is a vector quantity so its formula is change in displacement divided by the change in time. v= Δd/Δt Remember that displacement is not the same as distance as it measures the change in position but not the total length traveled. So if you go from A to point B and return back to point A then the total distance traveled is 2AB but the displacement is zero relative to point A! Displacement is a vector quantity.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one of the formuls is that V=x.t or V=d/t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Velocity(v)=Displacement(d)/Time taken(t)
