Remember, union sets are like the "union" of marriage. If one of you had a toaster when you got married, then the marriage has a toaster. If you both had a toaster, then the marriage has a toaster. But only ONE of you HAS to have it, for the union to have it. :)

To be the union, it must have every element in it that's in either A, or B, or both. So if A={1,2,3} and B={3,4,5} then A union B={1,2,3,4,5}, see?

A has 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 right? so the union has those plus 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 from B because the evens were already accounted for.

Hooray! Also worth remembering: if one of the sets happens to be a subset of the other (e.g., as here, everything in A is in B, and then some other stuff), then the "larger" set is the union of the 2. (And the smaller set - the subset - is the intersection of the 2.)
