Solve the triangle. Round lengths to the nearest tenth and angle measures to the nearest degree. a = 7, b = 7, c = 5

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

You know that A = B (because a = b) and you also know that A > C (because a>c). That narrows it down to choices a and b. Do you know the law of sin yet?

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

no

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you will need the law of cosines 2 find to angles.... and then you can use angle sum of a triangle to find the 3rd angle...

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well looking at the question, the triangle is isosceles... so you only need to find 1 angle....the one opposite the shortest side and then use angle sum of a triangle

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

Ok, working this out..........

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

this is what you need to do... |dw:1377114754575:dw|

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

I got B.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

great, well done...

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

thanks

I found the answer too - well a bit late. :-)
