In the equation y=0.05x^2-x+1 what are the x and y intercepts

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\Large y=0.05x^2-x+1\]The y-intercept shouldn't be too difficult to find. We simply need to plug in x=0 to find it.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

For the x-intercepts we'll let y=0 and solve for x.\[\Large 0=0.05x^2-x+1\] We can throw this into the Quadratic Formula, that might be the easiest way.\[\large x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\]

thank you that is more understandable

zepdrix (zepdrix):

ok cool :)
