OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2=2m-2m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be -2=/ 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please clarify sorry i'm dense

OpenStudy (mandre):

What is the question?

OpenStudy (mandre):

You cannot find teh value of m because if you simplify you get -2 = 0 Which is incorrect obviously.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2=m(2-2) -2=m(0)=0 -2=0?!!!! It's Incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one way i did it was i combined like terms, so i just put the two 2m's together and got 4m and subtracted four from both sides of the equation and got 1=m but i'm not sre if i did it right?

OpenStudy (mandre):

2m-2m is not equal to 4m....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so it is incorrect okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do any of you know the answer to this different maths problem though because that would be fantastic 2x+2x=12?

OpenStudy (mandre):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what what do i think about if you guys know the answer or what do i think about the problem

OpenStudy (mandre):

Did you try to do it at least. It's a simple problem for me but you have to learn to do it so that you can handle similar problems

OpenStudy (mandre):

Can you simplify 2x+2x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (mandre):

What is 2+2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x+2x=12 x(2+2)=12 4x=12 x=12/4=3 x=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

..4..

OpenStudy (mandre):

So what is 2x+2x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x?

OpenStudy (mandre):

Yup. So now you have 4x = 12. And you want x on it's own to get the value of x. You know what to do now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide by four?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on both sides?

OpenStudy (mandre):

There you go :)

OpenStudy (uri):

-2=2m-2m +2m and -2m will be cancelled So, -2=0 Therfore no solution.
