can some one plz explain how to graph y = x - 3 using the slope-intercept method......medal for best answer plz help
y=1/2x-3
not y = x - 3
Well, the equation of your line is already in slope-intercept form, so that means that the number next to the x is your slope and the last term is your y-intercept. So your slope is 1/2 and your y-intercept is -3. So to graph it, you start at your intercept…so put your pencil on the y-axis at -3. Draw a point there. Then the slope tells you where to move from there….your slope is 1/2 so you 'rise' 1 unit and 'run' 2 units. Then draw another dot. Connect the dots. You always start at your y-intercept and then move according to what your slope is. (remembering that it is rise/run) Hope that helps!
