Can anyone please explain how to solve these? 1. The quotient of the sum of 2 and a number b, and 3. 2. The sum of the product of a number k and 4, and a number m. 3. The quotient of the difference between 5 and a number n, and 2.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

"the sum of 2 and a number b" translates to what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2+b

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so if you're taking a quotient of that and 3, the final answer is ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2+b over three ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good \[\large \frac{2+b}{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much ! :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

do you see how to do the other 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the second one I think it is k times 4 and then that plus m K(4)+m

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good, and you can rewrite K(4) as 4k since 4k means "4 times k"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And for the last one I think is 5-n over 2 ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

correct \[\large \frac{5-n}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the help :D

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure thing
