Which court order is directed to an officer holding a prisoner to show why the prisoner should not be released?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jamierox4ev3r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. due process B. writ of habeas corpus C. right to adequate defense D. guarantee against self-incrimination As far as I have studied it is a guarantee against self incrimination but due process of law can also be the answer right?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

it would actually be B. writ of habeas corpus. As a court order that is directed to an officer holding a prisoner, it mandates that the prisoner be brought before the court and that the officer show cause why the prisoner should not be released.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Does this make sense? @Royuzen24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It makes sense, oh I am wrong. Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But @Jamierox4ev3r I am not quite sure about writ of have as corpus, can you explain to me what it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Jamie is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jamierox4ev3r do you know? Which term describes the legal process by which a court order takes away a person’s citizenship? A. naturalization B. denaturalization C. alienation D. jus sanguinis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah okay thanks.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

writ=a form of written command in the name of the court habeas=requiring a person to be arrested and brought before a judge... and explains the felonies corpus=collection of written texts Does this make more sense? @Royuzen24 ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I think it is denaturalization

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah oh yeah it is related to the question....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@texaschic101 can you explain why you think is the answer?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Denaturalization is how the U.S.government goes about revoking your U.S. citizenship

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about naturalization, do you know what is naturalization?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is granted

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah oh thank, so the answer left is denaturalization,
