What is the surface area of the composite figure?
I'm confused because usually with composite figures I just split the shapes into however many, and apply the formulas to each seperate shape. However, the top rectangle has two lengths, 10cm and 12cm. I don't know what to do with them both. The formula I'm using is for the surface area of a rectangular prism: SA = (2LW) + (2WH) + (2LH)
i think it would be 136 based off some attempted math with the formula but im not sure... nobody is helping wahhh
im be right back have to do something real quick
hello
since the given composite figure is the sum of two figures, and both the figures of cuboidal shape, so The TSA of the composite figure will be given as: TSA of composite fig = 2[lb+bh+hl}+ 2[lb+bh+hl} = 2[12*2+2*2+2*12}+ 2[4*2+2*2+2*4} = 2[24+4+24}+ 2[8+4+8} = 2*52+ 2*20 = 104+ 40 = 144 square units
whats the tsa
Total surface area
TSA is stand for TOTAL SURFACE AREA
brb again
ok
you're saying the answer is 144?
I think it is 136! :D
IT IS 136!! Good job buddy! @danijo1814
The picture is like a trick question because half of the top of the smaller rectangle is covered and you have to remember to subtract that from the overall surface area.
