OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

Use Cramer's rule to solve the system. 2x + 4y - z = 32 x - 2y + 2z = -5 5x + y + z = 20

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Is there more to that problem than what is posted?

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

That's all of it.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The reason I ask is because solving for 3 unknowns using Cramer's method requires evaluating 4 third order determinants and the multiple choice answer is much too simple for that.

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

It's all they've given me. Whether none of the choices are correct or not, I gotta pick one.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'm just trying to find anything that looks even partially like a solution. LOL

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

The answer is D they just want you to find the roots of the 3 equations x = 1, y = 9, z = 6 (Sheesh why don't they just say it)

OpenStudy (explainitlikeimfive):

I dunno, whoever designed these questions are fantastic at making a simple task seem impossible.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Yes, that is ridiculous. Well, now you have your answer :-)
