Use the method of Gauss to find the sum. 1+2+3+4+...+1002

Gauss noticed that the first and last numbers add up to 1003. Also, the second and second to last numbers (i.e.: 2 and 1001) also add up to 1003, and so on with the third and third to last numbers etc... That should be a start - try and see if you can figure out how many lots of "1003" are made by continuing in this fashion, and then you can work out the answer simply by multiplication :)
