What you are doing here is moving the decimal to the right 3 places from where it is currently at right now.

Yes, move the decimal to the LEFT 3 positions. Everytime that you move it one to the left, add a zero. For instance: \(9.2 \times 10^{-2}\) would be 0.92 (one move) and then 0.092 (two moves). Does that make sense?
