ah

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

We want to isolate that square root, what we do first is to add 7 to both sides. What do you get?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Excellent, remember we still want that square root to be alone, what do we do now?

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

What about the -5? it would prevent us from squaring both sides. We need to kick it out!

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

We can't do that because its multiplying the square root. If you did that you would get -10 on the left which we don't want.

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

We want the square root alone.

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

Sorry but you actually divide both sides by -5. Like this |dw:1377496587730:dw|
