I am citing a source in an APA formatted essay and want to use just the topics in a bullet point listing. How do I include that information properly?

Note that in the Purdue examples, the line before introduced the source being used. If you need a citation, I would put it there to make it clear that is what is coming.

She has a bulleted list of the top skills and I just want to use the skills titles themselves, i.e. communication.

Ah, well, it answers taking it the other direction as well. If you look at the seriation rules, they simply view the entire thing as a paragraph. So there is no special requirement on the citation of the source because by APA rules this is just a different way of organizing a paragraph.

If you look at the reference list in an APA paper, it does not say exactly where in the source the information came from. Just pages and other general locations. So if it is on a bulleted list on a page or in the main text does not seem to matter.

As for reformatting, well, it is like any other quote. You need to make it clear this was taken from another source. Once that is clear, you are in the clear!
