You subtract to "undo" addition, and you multiply to "undo" division. so with that in mind, you can think about what the operations would look like that you are trying to "undo". Are you given the answers in "word form" like that?
If I have: \[\dfrac{ x-7 }{3 }\] I would have to multiply by 3 FIRST, then ADD 7 to isolate the x. But if I have: \[\dfrac{ x }{3 }-7\] then I need to ADD 7 first and THEN multiply by 3.
