Give an example of a relation that is a function and explain why it is a function.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Do you know what makes a relation a function, vs. not a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It Cant Have The x Repeated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This Is For FLVS So If You Put It All In 1 Answer So I Could Just Copy And Paste It. Please Ive Been Having Trouble With This For 3 Days Already.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Ok, that's a way to think of it. The way I teach it is this: To be a function, it must be that every x is matched up with one and only one possible y. So IF YOU KNOW x, YOU KNOW y. There is no ambiguity about the y coordinate, once you know x. Only one possibility.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

First off, I don't know what FLVS is. Second of all, I'm not here to give answers to be c&p'd. If you want help understanding the concept, I will explain it to you so you can learn something. If that isn't what you want, just say so, and I won't waste my time or yours.

its online school and i want to learn it i just never get the concept of algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thank you. report me okay. you know what dont waste your time im just gonna ignore you.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

You will continue to never get the concept, if you just ask people to give you the answer to c&p.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
