Could someone please help me with how to solve this problem. No answers or you'll be reported! Medal will be rewarded for help though ^.^
I'd start by drawing a radius to R (from the center). You know the central angle that is formed. This should lead you to the answer.
I just wanted to say that I think it's AWESOME how you posted this question. Such a refreshing change! :)
Okay so I got 90˚ for part of the triangle but I still can't get the other parts?
and your welcome ^.^
You are given the length of the arc. Remember the relationship of the central angle to the subtended arc length?
no.... -.-
:) They are equal!
I though that was it but I but my brain always second guesses it's self :O!!! Thank you
Okay so then because of the angle being 107˚ then the other angle would be 73˚?
Yes, that's right! And you know one more angle already...
which is 90˚??? So 180-73-90=17...but that's not one of the answers
Eeek! Sorry, I made a bad assumption :( I was thinking the base went through the center. OK...you can find the measure of arc RT. You have ANOTHER relationship between an inscribed angle and an arc.
uhhhhhhh.............oh my gosh I'm clueless :\
The angle is 1/2 the measure of the arc.
Okay so then arc RT would equal 73, then would you divide that by two to get 36.5˚?
RT isn't 73 :) That's the mistake I made. You already know angle S, work backwards.
Oh my goodness, I keep on trying to do this but it's so confusing! ^///^
If angle S is 25 degrees, what it RT?
50?
Yep
Okay so where do I work from that (my book didn't teach me any of this)
Almost there! You have an equation about an angle formed by a tangent and a secant...is that in your book?
no but I just found a website if anyone else has any problems ---> http://www.mathwarehouse.com/geometry/circle/tangents-secants-arcs-angles.php
:) You want the first equation
okay so 107-50=57/2=28.5?
Yes!
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I"M FANNING YOU!!!!
:) No problem, good luck!
