Factor out the greatest common factor in the expression x^2(x-4) + 15(x-4)

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Each term is a product (meaning, multiplication) of 2 FACTORS. In the first, you multiply \(x^2\) and (x-4). In the second, you multiply 15 and (x-4) So all of the factors, in both terms are: x (2 factors in the first term) (x-4) (a binomial factor, in both terms) and 15 (which really breaks down to a factor of 3, and a factor of 5, in the second term) So you tell me, what is the GCF?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take x-4 common

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Yes, that is the GCF. :)

i put the answer like this (x-4) nd like this x-4 they said its incorrect
