If one apple is worth a cents, find the value (in cents) of 60 apples.
do u mean 1 cent for 1 apple?
no it just says "a" cents
thats a grammatical error...but if it is 1 cent per apple just multiply 60 times 1 cent...
i did that and its wrong when i enter it
that is very weird.....u sure it says "a cents" ?
i copied and pasted it yes
that's a really cheap apple, I mean, heck I'd buy lots at that price :P
it says Answer with an algebraic expression.
so a = whatever prety much
yes haaha
so I bought an apple for "some price" and let you know about it now if I go back to the same market and buy 60 apples, how much would they cost me?
ohhhhh ok lemme think
theres not supposed to be an answer for a just a formula really
right, so what is it then?
ur just supposed to find a formula that fits this problem
right
just write down a+a+....+a 60 times of course, people invented multiplication to make that simpler.
\(\bf 1\ apple = \square_{cents} \qquad \qquad 60\ apples = \square?_{cents}\)
lemme put it this way then if I buy 1 apple for "some price" and let you know about it then how much would it cost me for 2 apples?
1 apple=a 60 apples=60a sooo 60a=1a???
well 1a \(\bf \ne\) 60a but one can say that if you pay "some price" for 1, for 60 you'd pay 60 times that amount
i just put (a)(60) and got it right haha
woww
@kcarfa1 hopefully you mom doesn't send you to the market for grocery shopping, because if she sends you for say 20 avocados, you may end up shortchanging her =)
Im pretty sure everyone was thrown off by that question it was the matter of writing it out properly.
