how do I figure this factor problem out? What three factors were used to make this Game Product game board? What product is missing from the grid? 4 6 9 14 ? 49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 6 9 14 ? 49 Factors are _ _ _

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Look at the factors in the 5 numbers. there are 3 factors, and each number is the product of 2 of them (or 1 of them, twice). There is one "pair" missing.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

E.g., if I have 3 numbers to pick from, there are 3*3 = 9 pairs of factors, but 3 of those are repeated so only 6 unique pairs. You are looking for the missing, unique factor pair.

could u give me the answer please if u no them

OpenStudy (debbieg):

The numbers are 4, 6, 9, 14, and 49 List all the factors. You'll notice there are only 3 unique ones. Those are the "3 factors" that the question is asking for. Each number on the board is either a PAIR of 2 of the 3, or a square of one of the 3. Just find the missing number! :)
