Check work? y = mx + b solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + b subtract b from both sides y - b = mx divide by m on both sides y - b/m = x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. you should make sure you use brackets but you're right, x = (y-b)/m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to divide the other side as whole. So it would be (y-b)/m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Other than that you're fine! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, that makes more sense. Thanks!
