In the rhombus :Angle 1 = 140 What are Angle 2 and Angle 3? The diagram is not to scale. A. Angle 2 = 40 and Angle 3 = 70 B. Angle 2 = 140 and Angle 3 = 20 C. Angle 2 = 40 and Angle 3 = 20 D. Angle 2 = 140 and Angle 3 = 70

Let me ask you:all the angles of the rombus amount to ????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk shapes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

imagine it is a square. all the four right angles amount to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many degrees in a right angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

140

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please, google right angle an come back to me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok sorry 90

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then four right angles amount to...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excellent. Same thing happens in a rhombus (it is sort of a cousin of the square). Now you know all the angles amount to 360 degrees in the rhombus. I will give you one more clue: Opposite angles are equal so: Angle1=Angle2 and Angle3=Angle4(which is not drawn) Do you follow?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i follow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then, angle 2= angle 1=140, ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If angle 1=angle 2= 140, how much is angle 1+angle 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

60 and 80 which equals 140

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please, read carefully my question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

280

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good, then how many degrees out of 360 are left for Angle 3 and 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that you have to split in two angles that are equal. Then each one is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

40 and 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is right and I see it is not among your choices. Tell your teacher

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i will thannk u

OpenStudy (mustap):

That's because angle 3 is half of 40 (it's 20). Notice the line going through the middle of the shape, the angle labeled 3 is only talking about half of the full corners angle, it's only asking for the bottom half of that angle.

OpenStudy (mustap):

gosh it's like I forgot how to write properly when I wrote that comment... hope you still understand what I meant though your teacher should have told you what you're doing wrong by now.
