A natural number is _____ a rational number. always sometimes never

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

\(\dfrac{Natural\;Number}{1}\) rather MAKES it a Rational Number, doesn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the answer is sometimes. But I just wanted to get someone elses opinion before I submitted my answer.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Can you ALWAYS put a Natural Number over 1, or just sometimes?

OpenStudy (psymon):

The idea is that a rational number is any number that can be written as a division of two integers. Also, we have this sort of hierarchy you could say: |dw:1378182810904:dw| The category above is ALWAYS included in the category below. Which means natural always is a part of whole, and whole is always a part of the integers, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

natural numbers are the subset of rational numbers hence natural numbers are always rational number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My mistake. Thank you for all of your help:)

yes thank you for the help [;
