How do I sketch and label an isosceles acute triangle ACT with AC=CT?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

do you know what an isosceles triangle is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I do. Its just that the AC=TC part confused me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant CT

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

right, well those are just labels for the vertex points, that is where each side meets, well, draw one here :), use the whiteboard

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

lemme give you 3 segments so you can assemble them|dw:1378241012761:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Something like this/?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap, in a isosceles triangle, only 2 sides have to be EQUAL now, none of the INTERNAL ANGLES in the triangle are 90 degrees or more than 90 degrees, all 3 angles are less than 90 degrees, that means all angles are ACUTE that makes it an ACUTE ISOSCELES triangle so which 2 sides are equal?|dw:1378241365055:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AC AND CT

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap, that's all they meant by saying AC = CT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oKAY THANKS The book makes it seem confusing

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):
