1) A NO, check the sign that you should get on the middle term. (Look at the OI in the FOIL!) 2) D NO, where did the middle term of the FOIL disappear to? The middle term ONLY goes away on these types of products when it is that special one that we talked about - the product of a sum and a difference gives you a DIFFERENCE of squares. You won't get a SUM of squares from a product of two binomials. 3) D YES!! (THIS is a product of a sum & diff, so you get a diff of squares!) 4) B NO, again, check the sign on that middle term. Look at your OI products - what signs do they have, what do they add to?? 5) C YES! Another diff of squares. 6) C Right! THIS won't give you a diff of squares. 7) B YES!

lol ok, well, yes B is right..... \((x + 7)^2=(x + 7)(x + 7)=x^2+7x+7x+7^2=x^2+14x+49\) Just be careful with the signs on those 2 middle terms, and make sure you add them correctly. That seems to be the place where you end up making errors. but you're getting it - just keep practicing! Do more and more of them! This should get very easy, then it will be easier for you when you get to factoring them, and on to more complex topics. You will need to be multiplying polynomials like this for as long as you take math! :)
