I need help with this chart for Geometry. I partially get it and need help. In case you can't read the writing: Converse - If it's a polygon then it's triangle Inverse - If it's not a triangle then it's not a polygon Contrapositive - If it's not a polygon then it's not a triangle. Medal will be rewarded for answer being accurate and correct. See below for Attachments.

true / false?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the statement "if it is a triangle, then it is a polygon" is obviously true the converse "if it is a polygon, then it is a triangle" is silly it could be a square for example , or an octagon so that one is false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the Inverse - If it's not a triangle then it's not a polygon is also False the inverse is the same as the converse

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I gave you the the part where my handwriting was hard to read. It's in the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and finally Contrapositive - If it's not a polygon then it's not a triangle. is the same as the original statement, so it is True

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@satellite73 so the counterexample for converse and inverse are the same

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@zepdrix Read @satellite73 answer's and help me to the parts that are false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a square is a counter example for both

OpenStudy (firejay5):

thanks @satellite73
