Yea, raising both sides to the power of two = squaring both sides

when you square a square root, the square root will go away, leaving the part under the root. \(\Large(\sqrt{x})^2=x\)

Same for taking the square root of something that's squared. \(\Large\sqrt{x^2}=x\) Square root and the square are opposites (inverse functions)
