Simplify the following expression. 2x - 6y + 3x2 + 7y - 14x. 3x2 + 12x + y 3x2 - 12x - y 3x2 - 12x + y 3x2 - 12x - 13y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On 3x2 it is 3x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

combine the y terms and the x terms :)

OpenStudy (ness9630):

Exactly what yum said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12x +3x^2 + 1y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2x - 6y + 3x^2 + 7y - 14x\]rearrange:\[3x^2-14x+2x-6y+7y\]combine like terms:\[3x^2-12x-6y+7y\]\[3x^2-12x+y\]and there ya have it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now remember its a NEGATIVE 14 added to a POSITIVE 2...so that's NEGATIVE 12 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, 3x^2 -(-12) + y ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your answer is C. 3x^2-12x+y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it's not minus negative, its just 3 x squared minus 12 x plus y :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! :D
