The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 3: 4: 5. What is the length of each side if the perimeter of the triangle is 90cm *further details inside*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't usually ask these kind of questions. But I am having a ridiculous argument and I don't understand how these two people are getting a different answer. Mine makes sense. and theirs do not. I would like to see an explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dude idk the answer man honestly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My logic was to assume the triangle had sides \(a\), \(b\), \(c\) and to state that: \[a+b+c=90\] Then relate the sides to an arbitrary variable \(x\) and set the following: \(a=3x\) \(b=4x\) \(c=5x\) Plug them in to the equation: \[3x+4x+5x=90\phantom{spc}\rightarrow\phantom{spc}x=7.5\] Then use that to find out the respective lengths. Is that correct?

OpenStudy (candy13106):

ok do u have answer choices for that

OpenStudy (candy13106):

look its just a question man lay off

OpenStudy (candy13106):

really can u plz help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve this \[-2\le2x-4<4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @KeithAfasCalcLover , that's correct

OpenStudy (candy13106):

ok so wats the answer to that may i ask

OpenStudy (candy13106):

hahahahah how funny c u tomorrow for more help

OpenStudy (anonymous):
