Anyone with a scientific or graphing calculator plz help! I don't have the appropriate calculator, could someone find log(-.39) and ln(-.39) ?? you have to press the inverse button
Uh, log and ln of anything negative is undefined.
that's why you have to use inverse
What is there to inverse? O.o If you only give me an expression of ln(-.39), I dont see what can be done.
well its actually .39=logx and .39=lnx my bad but I still don't have a calc
Now thats infinitely different, lol.
yup Im out of it sorry
Well, do you know what youd normally have to do if you had a calculator?I have no problem doing the calculator work, just need to make sure you would know whats going on.
well would it be 10 to the power of the number? in this case .39? im looking at some notes and it shows logx=5 and they go on to do 10^5 and get the big ol number
Yeah. Because when logx is written with no base, the base is assumed to be 10. So you would have 10^.39 = x, right. And for the ln portion?
idk bout that one I don't get what the notes are saying....
wait I think I got it
Well, if its ln, you "e" both sides.
So for log(x) = .39, we change it into 10^.39 = x for ln(x) = .39, we e both sides and have x = e^.39
i used an online calc and got the answers :)
Alright xD But yeah, knowing what is actually going on is still important.
yeah, I got it a lil bit before you responded again but th website is lagging on my comp for some reason... thanks though!
Yeah, np :3
inverse of lnx is e^x
