Please help with this FLVS U.S. Government problem!
Which of the following best describes how a unitary government is different from the government of the United States? * It has a central government that exercises complete control over smaller units of government, like states. *It does not have a president or other executive authority that enforces laws and policy separate from lawmakers. *Its local or individual state governments have full sovereignty and only coordinate activities for mutual defense. *Its legislature has authority over the executive branch, with the ability to select and remove executive leaders.

Well, we have a Federal Government. So what it's really asking is, how does it differ from a Federal Government.
A Federal Government has hierarchies. States can pass their own laws, authority and states are sovereign. Whereas, in a Unitarian Government system, there is no hierarchy, laws cannot be passed by the states, and their is no sovereign land. The Central Gov. can order the states to do whatever they want, as they are not sovereign. So, the answer is: A >> " It has a central government that exercises complete control over smaller units of government, like states" <<
