When using the linear combination method to solve a system of linear equations, what are the four options? A. Eliminate the ______ terms with _____. B. Eliminate the ______ terms with _____. C. Eliminate the ______ terms with _____. D. Eliminate the ______ terms with _____.

I have no idea what answers your teacher is expecting, but I can tell you that the combination method is using addition to solve linear equations. You would line up like terms and add the equations together to eliminate like variables with opposite coefficients. For this question, you may have to search your textbook or math program for the exact answer.

Its an online self-taught kind of class with no textbook so I honestly have no clue @gypsy1274

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the four steps include? ive tried googling and havent been able to come across anything that I can even understand and fill in the blanks with

This question is an example of rote memorization not understanding. Maybe it will help to realize that these are not steps being described. They are 4 different methods of solving systems of equations. (I think.)

Maybe eliminate the like terms with subtraction? eliminate the opposite terms with addition? Does that sound familiar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that sort of sound familiar, would there be one for substitution and the last one? i know theres subtraction, addition and substitution but i dont know the last one

Sorry for disappearing. I don't know any other answers.

Perhaps asking a new question in a different way will get you better answers. Maybe asking what methods are available for solving systems of equations and then try to fit those answers into this format. Sorry, I can't be of more help.
