how do you factor 2(a+b)^2-5(a+b)-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor it like you would any other problem just imagine a+b as x so look at it like 2x^2-5x-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then put a+b anywhere you see an x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fo some reason when I get to this \[2a ^{2}+ab ^{2}+4ab-5a-5b-3\] I get stuck trying to reorder.

My brain just doesn't want to function today:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trust me it is not that complicated just factor it like you would 2x^2-5x-3 and then anywhere you see an x put an a+b after you factor it

ok thanks. I guess I need to take a break for awhile and start again. I appreciate the help
