is the president considered a member of congress

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Technically, no. The office of the Presidency is part of the executive branch of the government while Congress is part of the legislative. The President is no longer a senator or a state representative, either. It's all part of the checks and balances worked into the government by the Constitution so no one branch or office can get too powerful.

Nope, congress is part of a different branch.
