A fish tank measures 0.40 meters long by 0.20 meter wide by 0.30 meters high. 1) What is the volume of the tank in liters? How do you do this step by step and how do you convert from meters to liters? By the way this is for Chemistry.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Actually you are not converting meters to liters - you are converting cubic meters to liters (Your teacher would probably remind you of that). Now for the problem.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Fish tank volume = .4 m * .2 m * .3 m = .024 cubic meters One cubic meter 1,000 litres Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cubic_meter .024 * 1,000 = 24 litres (Edited for correction)

Ok so one cubic meter is 1,00 liters. I had everything correct, but .024 did not seem right. Thanks for helping.
