Find the surface area of a cylinder with the following dimensions: radius 6 cm, height 10 cm

Directrix (directrix):

Do you know the formula for the surface area of a cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope sorry

Directrix (directrix):

If you google up the formula, I'll help you with finding the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 pi r 2 + 2 pi r h

Directrix (directrix):

SA = LA + 2B where LA is the lateral area and B is the area of one base. SA = 2 pi* r *h + 2 (pi* r²)

Directrix (directrix):

SA = 2 pi* 6 * 10 + 2 (pi* 6²) --> @Answermehhhhh Crank out these numbers and post what you get as an answer for the surface area.

566.6cm2 i think

Directrix (directrix):

Okay, let me do some number crunching and report back to you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

Directrix (directrix):

On my first run, I got 192 pi which is approximately 603.186 square cm. Check yours and if we still don't agree, I'll crunch my numbers again.

omg yes i did the math wrong... thanks!!!
